HALF-OGRES
  Giant
Half-ogres usually come in two varieties, battling brutes or gentle giants. Rare is the half-ogre who can reconcile the violent circumstances that typically surround their birth. Half-ogres usually inherent the social customs of their dominant parent. The culture of this guardian will be readily embraced, if for no other reason than to fit in somewhere. Half-ogres are a valued commodity among ogres, who task them to make all the important decisions for a tribe. Among humans, half-ogres are often reviled until such time as they can prove their worth to a fearful community.
Half-ogres make excellent adventurers that provide an imposing archetypal warrior for their party. They are not so bright or socially adept as to be great arcane spellcasters or strategists, but not so dim or socially inept as to be gagged during verbal encounters. The greatest power of half-ogres lies in becoming Large at 3rd level, when they can finally bring their 10 feet reach to bear against opponents.

HALF-OGRE BASE TRAITS

+4 Strength, +2 Constitution, –2 Dexterity, –2 Intelligence, –2 Charisma.

Medium: As Medium creatures, half-ogres have no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.

A half-ogre has the giant type.

Half-ogre base land speed is 30 feet.

Darkvision: Half-ogres can see in the dark up to 60 feet. Darkvision is black and white only, but it is otherwise like normal sight, and half-ogres can function just fine with no light at all.

Low-Light Vision: A half-ogre can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination. They retain the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions.

Giant Blood: For all effects related to race, a half-ogre is considered a giant. Half-ogres, for example, are just as vulnerable to special effects that affect giants as their giant ancestors are, and they can use magical items that are only usable by giants. (See the Monster Manual for more information about giants, and the Dungeon Master's Guide for more on magic items.)

Automatic Languages: Common and Giant. Bonus Languages: Abyssal, Draconic, Gnoll, Goblin, and Orc.

Favored Class: Berserker. A multiclass half-ogre's berserker class does not count when determining whether an experience point penalty is taken for multiclassing (see XP for Multiclass Characters, page 60 of the Player's Handbook).

Class Skills
The half-ogre's class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Climb (Str), Listen (Wis), Jump (Str), Spot (Wis), Survival (Wis), and Swim (Str). See Chapter 4: Skills in the Player's Handbook for skill descriptions.
  Skill Points at 1st Level: (2 + Int modifier) x 4.
Skill Points at Each Additional Hit Dice: 2 + Int modifier.

Class Features
All of the following are class features of the half-ogre racial class.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Half-ogres are proficient with all simple and martial weapons, with light armor, medium armor, and with shields (except tower shields).
Natural Armor (Ex): At 1st level, a half-ogre has a +1 natural armor bonus. At 2nd level, this bonus increases to +2. At 3rd level, this bonus increases to +3.
Feats: A half-ogre character gains one feat at 1st level and another at every Hit Die total divisible by 3. These feats are in addition to any bonus feats granted as class features or any other bonus feats.
Ability Score Increases: At 2nd level, a half-ogre's Strength score increases by 2 points.
A half-ogre character increases one ability score by 1 point at every Hit Die total divisible by 4. The player chooses which ability score to improve in this case.
Large Size (Ex): At 3rd level, a half-ogre has grown sufficiently to become a Large creature. As a Large creature, a half-ogre gains a –1 size penalty to Armor Class, a –1 size penalty on attack rolls, a +4 size bonus on grappling checks, and a –4 size penalty on Hide and Move Silently checks, but uses larger weapons than humans use, and their lifting and carrying limits are double those of a Medium character. In addition, a half-ogre now occupies a 10 foot space and benefits from a 10 foot reach.

HALF-OGRE AGE
You can choose or randomly generate your character's age. If you choose it, it must be the at least the minimum age for the character's race and class (see Table: Random Starting Ages). Your character's minimum starting age is the adulthood age of his or her race plus the number of dice indicated in the entry corresponding to the character's race and class on Table: Random Starting Ages.
Alternatively, refer to Table: Random Starting Ages and roll dice to determine how old your character is.

HALF-OGRE HEIGHT AND WEIGHT
Choose your character's height and weight from the ranges mentioned in the appropriate race description or from the ranges found on Table: Random Height and Weight.
The dice roll given in the Height Modifier column determines the character’s extra height beyond the base height. That same number multiplied by the dice roll or quantity given in the Weight Modifier column determines the character’s extra weight beyond the base weight.
